An informative talk on the topic of body movement interaction for creating/performing with digital music software. The talk surveys past academic and non-academic work in the area, including my own graduate research. The talk is followed by a demonstration of my company's product in development: MoveMIDI, a software that converts body movements from 3D tracking systems (like VR/AR systems) into musical triggers to be interpreted by 3rd party music software. I believe this software and system will be beneficial for education, live music performance, and accessibility of music computing devices. Next a QA session will be held. Finally, there will be an interactive demo time where audience members can try the first iteration of the MoveMIDI system and see how it can be used in a performance context. A goal of the event is to make connections with other creatives in the music area, whether artists, designers, software developers, engineers, etc. with the future intent of building a team. My company, TesserAct Music Technology LLC, is currently run by myself but I am looking to build a team for the future.
